FAQ
The questions everybody asks.
Most of these get asked on the first call. Here they are in advance, answered the way we would answer them out loud.
Getting started
What happens on the first call?
Thirty minutes. You describe what is happening, we ask the questions that tell us whether it is a people problem or something else wearing a people problem's clothes, and you get a straight answer about whether we can help. No deck, no discovery phase you pay for.
How soon can you start?
A read can usually begin within two to three weeks of the first call. Change work moves faster when it has to, because announcements do not wait for anyone's calendar.
Do we have to buy the whole thing?
No. Most engagements start with the read, and plenty stop there because the recommendation turned out to be something the team could run itself. The four capabilities are independent: you can hire us for onboarding without touching communications.
How we work
Who actually does the work?
Alex. He runs the diagnosis, stands in front of your managers, and writes what you keep. There is no pitch lead who hands you to someone junior after the sale, and you will not meet a team on the call who then disappears.
Do you work on site?
We are based in Jacksonville and work nationally. Cohorts and change moments usually want a room. Design and documentation work does not. We will tell you which parts of a scope genuinely need Alex in the building rather than billing you for the travel.
What if we already have an HR team?
Good. Most of our clients do. HR runs the function; we are hired for the specific thing nobody has time to build from scratch, and we build it so your team owns it afterwards. We work alongside HR, not around it.
Are we too small, or too big?
Small enough that one senior person can carry the work is the honest boundary. That has meant a startup standing up its first team and a national company restructuring departments. If you are large enough to need three workstreams running in parallel, we will say so.
Money and terms
What does it cost?
It depends on size and scope, and you hear a real number on the first call rather than after two discovery sessions. The read is the smallest way in. If the honest answer is that you do not need us, you will hear that too.
How long does an engagement run?
A read is two to three weeks. A boot camp cohort runs eight to twelve weeks. Change work is scoped to the event. Systems work runs multi-month. Fractional support is monthly, with no minimum term.
What do we have at the end?
The materials, the documentation, and people who know how to run them. Every scope lists the deliverables before it starts, so there is no argument later about what you were buying.
Will you sign our paperwork?
Yes. NDAs, MSAs, and vendor onboarding are normal. The people work is confidential by nature, which is also why we never publish client names.
Thirty minutes. No pitch.
Tell us what's happening. We'll tell you what we'd do about it, including when the honest answer is that you don't need us.
